NIZAPEX SHAMPOO
Topical antifungal shampoo
COMPOSITION :
The shampoo contains: Ketoconazole 20 mg/1 gm gm shampoo.
PROPERTIES :
Ketoconazole has a potent antifungal activity against dermatophytes and yeast. Nizapex shampoo rapidly relieves scaling and pruritus, which are associated with pityriasis versicolor, seborrhoeic dermatitis and pityriasis capitis (dandruff). Systemic effects of Nizapex shampoo are not expected since percutaneous absorption of the shampoo is negligible.
INDICATIONS :
Treatment and prophylactic against infection in:
• Localized pityriasis versicolor.
• Seborrhoeic dermatitis.
• Pityriasis capitis (dandruff).
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION :
Apply Nizapex shampoo on the affected areas of the skin or the scalp, leave it for 3 to 5 minutes and then rinse.
Treatment : -Seborrhoeic dermatitis and pityriasis caQitis: twice weekl for 2 to 4 weeks
– Pityriasis versicolor: once daily for 5 days.
Prophylactic :
• Seborrhoeic dermatitis and pityriasis capitis: once every 1 or 2 weeks.
• Pityriasis versicolor: once daily for 3 days before the summer.
CONTRAINDlCATIONS :
Hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any of the excipients in the shampoo.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS :
For patients on prolonged treatment with topical corticosteroids, it is recommended to continue applying the topical corticosteroids when starting treatment with Nizapex shampoo then withdraw gradually the steroid therapy over a period orz-a weeks.
SIDE EFFECTS :
Local irritation may occur when Nizapex shampoo is used immediately after prolonged treatment with topical corticosteroids.
PACKAGE AND STORAGE :
Shampoo 2%: Plastic container of 60 ml, 80 ml.
Store at temperature not exceeding 30 DC.
