Local Corticosteroid
Compostion :
Each 100 9 cream, ointment, lotion contain:
Mometasone furoate 0.1 9
Properties :
Like other topical corticosteroids, Mometasone furoate has anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties through
controlling the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammati n such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
Indications :
– Borgasone is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatosis, such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
– Borgasone Lotion may be applied also to scalp lesions.
Dosage and administration :
– A thin film of Borgasone Cream or Ointment should be applied to the affected skin areas once daily. Apply a few drops of Borgasone Lotion to affected skin areas including scalp sites once daily; massage gently and thoroughly until the medication disappears.
– Borgasone may be used in pediatric patients 2 years of age or older. Safety and efficacy of Borgasone in pediatric patients for more than 3 weeks of use have not been established. Use in pediatric patients under 2 years of age is not recommended.
Side effects :
Borgasone is well tolerated, reported side effects including burning, pruritus, tingling, or stinging are very rarely occured.
Precautions and warnings :
– If irritation or sensitization develops with the use of Borgasone products, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
– In the presence of an infection, use of an appropriate antifungal or antibacterial agent should be instituted. If a favorable response
does not occur promptly, the corticosteroid should be discontinued until the infection is controlled adequately.
Contra-indications :
Borgasone is contra-indicated in patients who are sensitive to Mometasone furoate, to other corticosteroids or to any component of these preparations.
Pregnancy and lactation :
As all other topical corticosteroids, drugs of this class should not be used by pregnant or lactating women in large amounts orfor prolonged periods of time.
Package and storage :
– Cream and Ointment: Tube of 20 g.
– Lotion: Plastic bottle of 20 ml.
– Store at temperature not exceeding 30° C.
– Not to be used except under physician supervision.
