Pulmocare Syrup
Expectorant -Antitussivc
Composition:
Each 5 ml contains:
Guaiphenesin 50mg
Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 5mg
Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 15 mg
Chlorpheniramine Maleate 1 mg
Properties :
Guaiphenesin is an effective expectorant while Dextromethorphan hydrobromide exerts a potent antitussive effect which is equal to that of codeine. Unlike codeine, it has neither analgesic, sedative nor addictive properties. Chlorpheniramine maleate is a potent antihistarninic with a rapid onset of action while Pseudoephedrine causes decongestion of the irritated nasal and bronchial mucous membrane.
Pulmocare is considered a preparation with multiple action having antitussive, antihistaminic and expectorant properties, for the symptomatic treatment of cough due to bronchitis, cold or allergy .
Indications :
For the treatment of cough due to acute and chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis and cough associated with common cold.
Dosage:
Children above six years: one teaspoonful two to three times daily.
Adults: one teaspoonful four to six times daily.
Precautions :
Because drowsiness may occur, patients should avoid driving vehicles or operating machinery .Used with caution in patients with cardiac disorders or peripheral vascular disease
Not to be used for children less than 6 years.
