Cpmposition :
Each ,.20 g gel contains :
Diclofenac Sodium ~ 0.2 g
Didofenac Sodium is Sodium 0 – { (2.6 – Dichlorophenyl) – amino} – phenyl-acetate.
Properties :
Romafengel is a local non – steroidal preparation with marked anti –
inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is a potent inhibitofof prostaglandin synthesis. The preparation combines the positive properties of the gel and
cream. Its local application gives an agreable cooling effect without leaving any greasy spots on the skin surface. Romafen gel permits the release of the active Substance in high concentrations into the underlying inflammed tissues.
Indications :
Romafen gel is used in the following cases : Inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases, rheumatisrrrof the sen tissues, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis, Sprains and superficial thrombophlebitis. Adverse Reactions .
Sometimes pruritis, reddening, burning sensation or eruption of the skin may occur.
Contra- indications :
Romafen gel is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to diclofenac sodium, to acetyl salicylic acid and other non – steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as isopropanol and propylene glycol. Romafen gel should not be used for children under 6 years nor for pregnant women.
Precautions:
The gel must not be applied oh open wounds, eyes and mucous membranes. It is applied only on intact surfaces.
Dosage And Application :
The gel is applied 3 -4 times daily on the affected areas of the skin. Ir
thrombophlebitis rub it in without pressing, apply 2 – 4 g depending on the size of the surface treated.
